About The Founder
Brian Saulsberry
Brian Saulsberry is a serial entrepreneur and former five-time student-athlete from Memphis, TN. He is the Founder and CEO of Backyard Sports Enterprises, a Tampa-based company he launched in 2020 to uncover “diamonds in the rough” and connect under-recruited high school athletes with college coaches.
Through Backyard Sports, Brian has built a portfolio of recruiting showcases across the country including Florida Futures, CLE Circuit, Philly Futures, Hidden Gems/Hometown Hero Series, The Rush (men’s), and The Spark (middle school) all designed to provide boutique, high-touch exposure opportunities for athletes in non-traditional lacrosse hotbeds. The company also operates Backyard Blueprint, a personalized recruiting consulting program, Backyard Filmz, a high-quality film production service, and a branded merchandise line.

As a recruiting consultant, Brian guides players and families through the college recruiting process and NCAA transfer portal, offering mentorship, advocacy, and strategic support. His impact includes helping athletes secure roster spots and scholarships at programs across NCAA Division I–III and NAIA levels.
Brian earned his B.A. in Sport Management from Baldwin Wallace University (Class of ’23), where he was a 3-year letterwinner as a Long Stick Midfielder. He appeared in three OAC Championship games and was part of three OAC Regular Season Championship teams.

He later completed his M.S. in Entrepreneurship at the University of Tampa (Class of ’24). While at UT, he was a member of the men’s lacrosse program, contributing to the Spartans’ 2024 Sunshine State Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships and advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals and semifinals.

Brian currently resides in Tampa, FL, where he continues to expand Backyard Sports into a multi-faceted brand, serving athletes, families, and coaches nationwide.
